Changan Benben Xin Yue Edition and Xin Dong Edition differ mainly in their configurations: The Xin Yue Edition adds practical features such as a rearview camera, GPS navigation, Bluetooth, car phone, voice recognition control system, and car networking. The Xin Dong Edition comes with rear parking sensors, dual 10.25-inch screens, remote start function, LED headlights, and electric adjustment for the exterior rearview mirrors, which can basically meet daily driving needs. Taking the Benben 2018 1.4L Manual Comfort model as an example: It is a microcar launched by Changan Automobile, with dimensions of 3730mm in length, 1650mm in width, and 1530mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2410mm. It is equipped with a 1.4L naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power of 74kW, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
I've been driving the Changan Benben for almost a year now, and I bought the Deluxe version. Compared to the Standard version, the differences are mainly in the details. The Standard version is more affordable, but it comes with 14-inch steel wheels, while my Deluxe version is equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels, which feel more stable, especially when taking sharp turns at high speeds. In terms of interior, the Deluxe version features soft materials on the seats and door panels, making them much more comfortable to sit on, whereas the Standard version has a stronger plastic feel, though it's still quite durable. Both versions come with the same battery pack offering a 301 km range, which is sufficient for daily commuting. However, the Deluxe version adds a rearview camera and radar, which are quite handy for beginners when parking. I think if it's for family trips or a bit more quality, the Deluxe version is worth it; if you're on a tight budget, the Standard version is perfectly adequate for daily use, as the maintenance costs are about the same anyway.
