What are the differences between SUVs and sedans?

There are several differences between sedans and SUVs, including visibility, fuel consumption, comfort, and usage. Differences in visibility: SUVs have a higher chassis and an open design, which gives them a better field of vision compared to sedans, whose chassis is relatively lower and offers a narrower field of vision. Differences in comfort: Sedans generally have longer seats than SUVs and are designed to be more ergonomic, allowing passengers to relax against the backrest. Therefore, SUVs are less comfortable than sedans. Differences in fuel consumption: For the same engine displacement, SUVs tend to consume more fuel. SUVs are designed to be heavier and taller than sedans, resulting in poorer aerodynamics, which makes them less fuel-efficient compared to sedans. Differences in usage: SUVs are more suitable for long-distance travel or off-road driving, while sedans are mostly used for family or business purposes.
I've driven both SUVs and sedans many times, and I feel that SUVs offer particularly spacious interiors, especially the trunk which can fit several suitcases or a stroller, making it extremely convenient when traveling with kids. The high ground clearance also provides better visibility, reducing worries about scraping the undercarriage, and easily handling small puddles, making it safer in rainy conditions. However, fuel consumption is noticeably higher, and they feel bulky in urban driving, with less agility in turns compared to sedans. Sedans offer a more comfortable ride, with a smoother driving experience, making long-distance trips less tiring, and they save a lot on fuel costs while being easier to park. SUVs are better suited for families or road trips, whereas sedans are more appropriate for daily commutes, especially for short-distance city driving.
