Domestically produced BMW and imported BMW differ in their place of production and body length. The following are the introductions of the two different types: Different places of production: One is produced in Germany and imported to China as a whole vehicle. The other is assembled domestically by Brilliance with most components imported from BMW, under BMW's supervision. Initially, domestically produced BMWs had 99.9% imported components, even the cigarette lighter was imported from Germany, essentially moving the components from Germany to China for assembly. Different body lengths: In terms of body length, domestically produced BMWs are longer, while imported BMWs have standard wheelbases. The length/height/wheelbase of imported BMWs are 4915/1487/2968 respectively. The length/height/wheelbase of domestically produced BMWs are 5055/1491/3108 respectively.
