What are the differences between commercial vehicles and regular cars?

Business vehicles and regular cars differ mainly in terms of body size, space, and suspension. Body size and space: Commercial vehicles have larger body dimensions, with greater length and wheelbase compared to family cars, which also tests the driver's skills. Commercial vehicles typically carry seven or more passengers, whereas family cars are usually designed with five seats for household use. Suspension system: Due to the need to balance passenger space and handling, commercial vehicles generally use a torsion beam non-independent rear suspension system. In contrast, family cars can employ various rear suspension systems, with independent suspension becoming a standard feature in many family car models.
The biggest differences between MPVs and regular cars lie in space and comfort. MPVs are typically designed to accommodate more passengers, with the second row often featuring independent seats equipped with adjustment functions, like those in the Alphard—soft, spacious, and fatigue-free even on long journeys. In contrast, regular sedans are more compact, making the rear seat uncomfortable when squeezing in three people, especially for families with elderly or children who often complain during trips. MPVs also boast larger trunks, making it convenient to store luggage or cargo, whereas regular cars have shallower trunks that require careful packing. From my experience with family road trips, MPVs clearly outperform in comfort and practicality, though regular cars are easier to park and more space-efficient.
