Rzeppa joint consists of six main components. Components of Rzeppa joint: The Rzeppa joint is composed of an inner race (star-shaped component), outer race (ball housing), steel balls, retaining clips, dust cover, and cage. Components of Rzeppa constant velocity joint: Based on whether the joint can move axially, Rzeppa constant velocity joints can be divided into fixed-type (non-sliding) Rzeppa joints and sliding-type Rzeppa joints. Additional information: Structurally, the inner splines on the inner surface of the Rzeppa joint's star-shaped component connect to the drive shaft. Its outer surface has six curved grooves serving as inner raceways for the steel balls, while the outer raceway is formed by the inner surface of the ball housing. The steel balls are installed in the raceways formed between the star-shaped component and ball housing, with the cage maintaining all steel balls in the same plane. Power is transmitted from the drive shaft through the steel balls to the ball housing.
