Causes of the engine malfunction indicator light coming on: 1. Poor quality gasoline that fails to meet standards. Low-quality gasoline not only affects the incomplete combustion of the air-fuel mixture in the cylinders, leading to excessive carbon deposits, but also clogs fuel lines and corrodes components, while disrupting the normal concentration of the air-fuel mixture; 2. Oxygen sensor malfunction. A damaged oxygen sensor or loose/damaged sensor connector can cause the air-fuel mixture to become too lean or too rich, triggering the malfunction indicator light; 3. Mass airflow sensor malfunction. If the mass airflow sensor or its circuitry fails, the engine control unit cannot obtain accurate intake air volume signals, preventing proper fuel quantity regulation, which results in an overly lean or rich mixture and causes the engine to malfunction.
