What are the causes of engine shaking?

Engine shaking causes: 1. Severe engine carbon buildup. 2. Ignition system issues. 3. Aging engine components. 4. Unstable oil pressure. Common symptoms when engine shaking occurs include: vibration at idle and poor acceleration. Below are solutions for engine shaking: 1. For severe carbon buildup causing vehicle vibration (most commonly due to dirty throttle body or excessive injector carbon deposits), clean the fuel system and inspect the idle air control valve for carbon deposits, cleaning immediately if found. 2. For ignition system problems, check the condition of spark plugs, high-voltage wires, and ignition coils. Poor ignition system performance or weak spark plug firing can also cause such issues. In this case, inspect spark plugs for excessive carbon buildup and replace if necessary. 3. For aging engine components, engine shaking may also relate to worn engine mounts (also called rubber mounts). Replace components when this occurs. 4. For unstable oil pressure, check oil pressure and replace components if needed.
