The cars under the Hengda brand are called Hengchi. On August 3, 2020, Hengda launched the first six models of Hengchi, covering all levels from A to D and a full range of vehicle types including sedans, coupes, SUVs, MPVs, and crossovers, achieving comprehensive product line coverage. The six Hengchi models are Hengchi 1, Hengchi 2, Hengchi 3, Hengchi 4, Hengchi 5, and Hengchi 6. Hengchi 1 is positioned as a pure electric D-segment sedan, featuring a two-tone body with a wheelbase of 3150mm and 22-inch wheels. Hengchi 2 is a pure electric sports B-segment sedan with a cat-eye green exterior color and a fastback design that delivers a strong visual impact. Hengchi 3 is a C-segment large SUV equipped with 22-inch wheels and a fastback rear design. Hengchi 4 is a pure electric 7-seater MPV featuring a new-generation design language. Hengchi 5 is a pure electric A-segment SUV, equipped with an H-shaped full-width LED headlight and 21-inch wheels. Hengchi 6 is a pure electric A-segment crossover SUV, featuring a split-type headlight design, combined with a fastback body shape and full-width taillights for a sporty appearance.
The Hengda brand cars are essentially the vehicles under the Hengda Auto brand. I've learned a bit about it before. Hengda Auto is a new energy vehicle subsidiary established by China's Evergrande Group, founded around 2019 with quite a high profile at the time. They acquired Sweden's NEVS company, focusing on intelligent electric vehicles. Currently, they have launched the Hengchi series, such as the Hengchi 1, a luxury SUV, and the Hengchi 5, a mid-sized car, both positioned as premium electric vehicles in the market. Hengda Auto initially planned a global rollout with a target of producing 500,000 vehicles annually. However, due to recent financial issues faced by the Evergrande Group, the mass production and delivery of this brand's cars are somewhat uncertain. It's said that many pre-order customers are still waiting for updates. The electric vehicle market in China is fiercely competitive now, with new players like BYD and NIO leading the charge. It's hard to say if this brand can secure its footing, but if one could actually drive a Hengchi, its range is reportedly over 600 kilometers, and it comes with intelligent driving assistance features.
