The BYD Tang has body dimensions of 4870mm in length, 1940mm in width, and 1720mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820mm. The BYD Tang is equipped with a three-engine dual-mode power system, consisting of a 2.0T turbocharged engine and two motors at the front and rear, enabling independent power output for the front and rear wheels. In hybrid mode, the three engines work simultaneously, delivering a maximum power of 371 kW and a peak torque of 720 Nm. In terms of exterior design, the BYD Tang still retains some resemblance to the S6 and S7 models, but the front end features a completely new design. It includes large chrome accents, a black honeycomb grille, a large mouth-style air intake on the front bumper, LED daytime running lights, and newly designed five-spoke wheels, making it noticeably more sporty than the S7. At the rear, the BYD Tang sports distinctive taillights with a chrome strip connecting the two units.

As a dad who frequently takes family trips, I pay special attention to the size and space of a vehicle. The BYD Tang measures 4870mm in length, 1950mm in width, and 1725mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820mm. This height design is particularly friendly for elderly passengers, making it easier for them to get in and out without bending too much. The third-row seating is more comfortable than expected, and with seven family members—parents and kids—on weekend outings, the legroom is reasonably arranged. The trunk is highly practical, accommodating two 28-inch suitcases while still having space for camping gear and bicycles. The interior storage spaces are also well thought out, with four cup holders and an armrest compartment just in the front row, and the rear door panels can hold children's picture books and toys, making it truly considerate for families like ours with kids.

In terms of technical specifications, the BYD Tang measures 4870×1950×1725 mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. Compared to the Highlander, this model boasts an additional 20 mm in wheelbase, and a front track width of 1660 mm enhances stability during turns. The 1950 mm width provides ample lateral space, allowing three adults to sit comfortably in the rear without shoulder crowding. The height of 1725 mm offers superior headroom, ensuring even a 1.8-meter-tall individual won't feel cramped in the third row. With a ground clearance of 182 mm, it balances urban commuting and light off-road needs, proven to handle 20 cm curbs in real-world tests. The approach angle of 22° and departure angle of 24° minimize the risk of scraping when going over speed bumps.

Driving a BYD Tang daily can be a bit challenging when parking, given its length of 4.87 meters and width of 1.95 meters. Extra caution is needed when maneuvering in older residential areas. Fortunately, the 360-degree panoramic camera and front/rear eight-radar system are incredibly helpful, especially when parallel parking into a standard 5.2-meter space in one go. Once during a heavy rainstorm while picking up my child from school, the road was flooded with over 10 cm of water, but the Tang's ground clearance allowed it to pass through steadily. The trunk can fit three cases of mineral water upright, which is more than enough for daily grocery shopping. On weekends, it comfortably accommodates five friends for road trips, with space for four suitcases and a barbecue grill. The only minor inconvenience is that in seven-seat mode, backpacks have to be placed at the feet in the third row.
