BMW pure electric sedan is the BMW i3, which is positioned as a pure electric compact car. It offers two models with energy types being pure electric and range-extended. The advantage of the range-extended electric vehicle is that it can be refueled, with the small internal engine only driving the generator to charge the battery pack, not participating in power output, thereby increasing the range. The BMW i3 range-extended model also provides a charging port, supporting external charging. The BMW i3 is also known as the MegaCity model, featuring an advanced electric drive system similar to the all-electric drive system of the BMW 1 Series ActiveE, with a maximum output power of 167 horsepower, delivering power to the rear wheels.

BMW currently offers a range of pure electric sedans. I recently test-drove the i4, which has a range of over 500 kilometers and charges quite quickly, making it suitable for daily commuting. There's also the i5, which offers more space and comfortable rear seats, ideal for family use, with good range and performance. The high-end i7 is even more luxurious, featuring an excellent rear-seat entertainment system, making it a pleasure for road trips. These models are all part of BMW's electric lineup, and more variants may be introduced in the future. Prices start from several hundred thousand yuan, depending on the configuration.

As someone who enjoys speeding while driving, I find the BMW i4 M50 and i5 M60 electric sedans the most exhilarating. They accelerate from 0 to 100 in just a few seconds, with handling as stable as a track car. Their chassis tuning is excellent, providing no drift during turns, and the energy recovery is smooth, unlike some sluggish electric cars. BMW has put effort into performance, making them enjoyable even for long-distance driving, with range that can handle aggressive driving. If you're after a sense of speed, these two models are the top choices.

I mainly use the car to pick up and drop off my kids at school, and among BMW's pure electric sedans, the i5 is the most practical. The rear seating area is spacious enough to accommodate child seats without any issues, and the trunk is also ample. It's fully equipped with safety features, including collision prevention systems and automatic emergency braking, which gives me peace of mind on the road. With a range of over 450 kilometers, it's perfectly fine for occasional city trips or short journeys. Charging stations are now widely available, and it only takes half an hour to charge up to half capacity, which is quite convenient.

From a technological perspective, the BMW i4, i5, and i7 are all equipped with the latest iDrive system, supporting 5G connectivity and voice control, with timely navigation upgrades. The autonomous driving assistance features are quite intelligent, such as lane-keeping and adaptive cruise control, making driving effortless. The vehicle system also integrates remote control functions, allowing users to pre-start the air conditioning or check charging station locations. With significant potential for future upgrades, BMW continuously pushes software updates.
