The benefits of waterless coolant include eliminating the need for frequent top-ups of cooling fluid, along with properties such as high boiling point, low freezing point, strong thermal conductivity, cleanliness, and environmental friendliness. Waterless coolant has a boiling point as high as 180 degrees Celsius and a freezing point as low as -50 degrees Celsius. Such a wide temperature range not only allows the vehicle to operate in extremely cold conditions but also enhances the engine's working efficiency. Also known as waterless cooling oil or automotive cooling oil, waterless coolant is a new type of automotive maintenance product. The key difference from conventional coolant is that waterless coolant is primarily composed of propylene glycol and contains no water at all, completely eliminating the risks and hazards associated with water-based coolants, such as rust, corrosion, scale, cavitation, low boiling point, overheating, and evaporation.
Waterless coolant offers quite a few advantages, and I think the most obvious one is its long-term engine protection. Regular coolant usually needs replacement every two years, but this can last five to six years or even longer, saving both hassle and money. It can withstand extremely cold and hot weather, with a boiling point around 190°C, and won't freeze even at -40°C in winter, making it particularly suitable for regions with large temperature variations. Since it's completely water-free, it won't produce scale that clogs pipes, and the water pump operates more smoothly. I used regular coolant before, and when changing it, I saw rust debris in the radiator—now the engine is noticeably quieter. Another small advantage is not having to worry about leaks, as the liquid composition is more stable and causes much less corrosion to metal parts.
