What Are the Basic Maintenance Items for a Car?

Basic car maintenance includes five fluids, three waters, and tires. The five fluids refer to gasoline, engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and brake fluid. The three waters refer to radiator coolant, windshield washer fluid, and battery water. The last item is the car's tires. Tire maintenance includes regularly checking the tire pressure. Tires with pressure exceeding the specified level will significantly reduce their service life, while tires with pressure below the specified level will result in poor braking performance, difficulty in steering, or heavy steering, ultimately affecting the tire's service life. Below is an introduction to car maintenance: 1. Introduction to car maintenance: Car maintenance refers to the preventive work of regularly inspecting, cleaning, replenishing, lubricating, adjusting, or replacing certain parts of the car, also known as car servicing. 2. Scope of car maintenance: Modern car maintenance mainly includes the engine system (engine), transmission system, air conditioning system, cooling system, fuel system, power steering system, etc. 3. Purpose of car maintenance: The purpose of car maintenance is to keep the car clean, maintain normal technical conditions, eliminate potential hazards, prevent faults, slow down the deterioration process, and extend the service life.
Every time I go to the 4S shop for maintenance, I focus on six basic items: engine oil and oil filter must be replaced, especially full synthetic oil needs to be changed after running 8,000 kilometers; tire pressure must be checked and the position adjusted, otherwise uneven wear will cost a lot of money; if the air filter is dirty, replace it directly with a new one, as smooth breathing makes the car more powerful; brake pads thinner than 3mm must be replaced, as they are life-saving stuff; battery terminals need to be cleaned of rust to prevent leakage, as a dead battery in winter is the most troublesome; if the wiper doesn't clean well, replace the rubber strip immediately, as blurred vision on rainy days is unacceptable. These items can all be monitored by yourself, so don't be fooled into spending money on additional items.
