Additionally, the smaller cylinder block results in reduced friction losses during operation, and correspondingly lower heat dissipation losses. 3. Thanks to its inherent structural advantages, the three-cylinder engine excels in fuel consumption control. The downsizing of the engine makes it more compact with higher power density and improved thermal efficiency. Disadvantages: Due to the unequal number of cylinders on each side, the three-cylinder engine is prone to vibrations during operation and produces louder engine noise.
