What are the advantages and disadvantages of motorcycles compared to cars?

Compared to four-wheeled vehicles, motorcycles as a mode of transportation have distinct characteristics. With their small size and lightweight, motorcycles offer advantages such as convenience and environmental friendliness. They can also maintain normal operation in the face of traffic congestion. However, motorcycles also have inherent limitations, such as the inability to transport multiple people and being significantly affected by weather or road conditions. Additionally, due to policy restrictions, domestic consumers have not developed a consistently positive attitude toward motorcycles. In fact, motorcycles are currently an ideal mode of transportation, given the unavoidable realities of increasing traffic congestion and energy shortages in the short term. Moreover, under purchase restriction policies, public transportation facilities cannot fully meet the daily travel needs of the public. If your travel needs are relatively simple and primarily for a single person, motorcycles can fully serve as a commuting tool. From this perspective alone, the benefits of motorcycle travel clearly outweigh the drawbacks. Advantages: Economical, convenient, environmentally friendly, energy-saving, alleviates congestion Disadvantages: Cannot carry multiple people, limited by weather and road conditions, lower safety protection If your travel needs are relatively simple and primarily for a single person, motorcycles can fully serve as a commuting tool. Of course, without a favorable usage environment, motorcycles can also become "locusts" hindering traffic development, a phenomenon more evident in Southeast Asian countries.
I've been riding motorcycles for over ten years, and the biggest advantage I feel is the exceptional maneuverability in urban areas. When there's traffic, cars can only wait helplessly, while motorcycles can easily weave through gaps, saving time. Parking is also much easier, as half a parking space is enough to squeeze in. However, the disadvantages are obvious. It's particularly miserable in windy or rainy weather—raincoats hardly provide any protection, and in winter, you shiver from the cold. Additionally, safety is much worse compared to cars; the saying 'meat wrapped in metal' isn't unfounded. Once, I almost slipped while avoiding a car, and it still gives me chills thinking about it. Carrying luggage is also troublesome; even buying two bags of rice requires a lot of effort to secure, unlike cars where you can just toss them in the trunk.
