Volvo S90: Should I Use 92 or 95 Octane Gasoline?

According to the official vehicle user manual recommendation, the Volvo S90 should use 95 octane gasoline. In addition to checking the appropriate gasoline grade in the vehicle user manual, the Volvo S90's fuel filler cap also displays this information. Typically, the required gasoline grade can also be determined based on the engine's compression ratio. Vehicles with a compression ratio between 8.6-9.9 should use 92 octane gasoline, while those with a compression ratio between 10.0-11.5 should use 95 octane gasoline. However, with the application of new technologies, the compression ratio alone cannot determine the required gasoline grade. High compression ratio engines can also be tuned to use lower octane gasoline. This is because, besides the compression ratio, other factors such as ignition timing, turbocharging technology, and Atkinson cycle technology also play a role. Generally, the higher the gasoline octane number, the higher the octane value and the better the anti-knock performance. 92 octane gasoline contains 92% isooctane and 8% n-heptane, while 95 octane gasoline contains 95% isooctane and 5% n-heptane. If the Volvo S90 occasionally uses the wrong gasoline grade, simply switch back to the correct grade after the current tank is used up. However, prolonged use of the wrong gasoline grade can have the following effects: For vehicles designed for lower octane gasoline, using a higher octane grade will not cause damage, but the increased octane value can alter the fuel's ignition point, leading to delayed combustion in the engine. This reduces the engine's power output and thermal efficiency, resulting in poorer performance. For vehicles designed for higher octane gasoline, using a lower octane grade can cause engine knocking. Due to the significantly lower octane value, the gasoline's ignition point decreases, causing premature ignition during the compression stroke. If combustion occurs before the spark plug fires during the compression stroke, resistance is generated during the upward stroke. This resistance makes the engine run very unstably. If the knocking is mild, it may only increase noise without significant engine damage. However, noticeable knocking indicates severe engine conditions, affecting not only driving stability but also causing abnormal wear on pistons and cylinders, potentially leading to cylinder scoring in severe cases.

Can New Energy Vehicles Be Rented?

As long as the conditions for new energy rental vehicles are met, they can be rented. Conditions for New Energy Rental Vehicles: Not everyone can rent a car; only those who meet the conditions for new energy vehicle rental can lease one. The conditions for new energy vehicle rental involve certain mandatory requirements. If the renter meets these conditions, they can naturally rent a car that meets their needs smoothly. New Energy Vehicle Rental and Sales Model: This model is promoted by automakers and intelligent vehicle networking technology companies, including lease-to-own and contract leasing forms. It is not only a crucial method for automakers to boost the sales of new energy vehicles but also the starting point for intelligent vehicle networking technology companies to collect user big data, successfully perform mathematical modeling, and develop artificial intelligence. It will effectively accelerate the technological innovation and product iteration of new energy vehicles.

Can Tap Water Be Used as Wiper Fluid?

Tap water cannot be used as wiper fluid for the following reasons: Tap water lacks cleaning properties and contains impurities that can clog the wiper fluid nozzles. Wiper fluid possesses wetting, penetrating, and solubilizing characteristics, which enable it to clean, remove dirt, and provide antifreeze protection. Precautions for using wiper fluid include: 1. Spray intermittently; avoid continuous spraying for extended periods. 2. Do not overfill the wiper fluid reservoir. Steps for adding wiper fluid: 1. Open the front hood and locate the fluid reservoir. 2. Unpack the solid wiper fluid and place it into the reservoir. 3. Fill the reservoir until full. 4. Wait for the solid wiper fluid to dissolve completely.

Where to Add Wiper Fluid in a Volkswagen?

Volkswagen windshield washer fluid is added on the right side of the engine compartment. Windshield Washer Fluid: Commonly known as car windshield cleaning fluid. It is a consumable item in vehicle use. High-quality car windshield washer fluid is mainly composed of water, alcohol, ethylene glycol, corrosion inhibitors, and various surfactants. When the transparency of the front windshield decreases, spraying some washer fluid can provide a clear and bright view. Especially during night driving, dust on the glass can scatter light, making it necessary to spray washer fluid to maintain the windshield in optimal transparency. When to Add Washer Fluid: Washer fluid is a consumable item and should be checked regularly. The washer fluid reservoir has a marked line; do not exceed this line when adding fluid.
