Unfamiliarity with gear positions, such as looking down at the gear while driving or failing to engage the gear twice in a row. 5. Starting the engine without placing the gear in neutral. After the vehicle stalls, the gear must be placed in neutral before restarting the engine. 6. Starting in the wrong gear and failing to correct it in time. 7. Coasting in neutral while driving.
