Under what circumstances is a retarder suitable for use?

A retarder is suitable for use when decelerating or going downhill for a long time, and the brakes cannot work for a long time. When this function is used, it allows the car to decelerate smoothly, preventing excessive wear of the vehicle's braking system due to road conditions, thereby ensuring the vehicle's braking capability. Working principle of automotive retarder: By energizing the excitation coil of the stator assembly through the control circuit, a magnetic field is generated. The rotor assembly rotates at high speed with the vehicle's transmission part, cutting the magnetic lines of force, generating a reverse torque, and decelerating the vehicle. According to different working principles, automotive retarders can be divided into engine retarders, hydraulic retarders, electric turbine retarders, motor retarders, and aerodynamic retarders. According to the different forms of braking torque, automotive retarders can be divided into primary retarders (retarders acting on the front end of the gearbox) and secondary retarders (retarders acting on the rear end of the gearbox).
