Windshield washer fluid should be added to the washer fluid reservoir located in the engine compartment, filling it to approximately 1cm below the reservoir opening. The functions of windshield washer fluid are as follows: 1. Anti-freeze function. During winter driving, temperature differences between inside and outside can cause frost buildup on the windshield, impairing driver visibility. Spraying washer fluid solves this problem as it contains alcohol and other substances that have anti-freeze properties to melt frost. However, washer fluids come in different types; if anti-freeze capability is needed, purchase proper anti-freeze washer fluid, otherwise it won't be effective. 2. Anti-fog function. Washer fluid forms a protective film on glass to prevent fog formation, maintaining driver visibility and preventing accidents. 3. Lubrication and anti-static functions. Washer fluid provides lubrication, reducing friction between wipers and glass, thereby extending wiper lifespan and preventing scratches. Winter conditions may generate significant static electricity in vehicles, sometimes even causing discomfort to people. After cleaning windows with washer fluid, surface charges are eliminated, reducing static electricity in the vehicle.
