Should You Use Automatic Headlights or Low Beams at Night?

You can use either automatic headlights or low beams at night, but it is recommended to set them to the automatic mode when in use. Purpose of automatic headlights: When the driving environment becomes darker, the headlights will automatically turn on, and they will turn off when the light becomes brighter. According to traffic regulations, headlights must be turned on before entering a tunnel, so you still need to manually turn them on in advance when passing through a tunnel. Scenarios requiring low beams: Low beams must be turned on when driving in areas without streetlights at night, during dusk when it is relatively dark, or at dawn when visibility is low. In cases of heavy fog, snow, or heavy rain, even during the day, low beams must be used if visibility is impaired. Additionally, in some areas where lighting is insufficient despite existing streetlights, low beams should also be activated.
