Should the Dashcam's G-Sensor Be Enabled?

Dashcam's G-sensor can be enabled, but it is recommended to set it to a low sensitivity option and regularly format the memory card to prevent the card from storing too many non-overwritable videos, which would reduce the available space for loop recording. The G-sensor, also known as collision detection storage, works by the dashcam's CPU detecting when the values from the gravity sensor exceed the preset threshold, at which point it assumes a collision has occurred and protects the current video segment from deletion, thereby achieving the function of automatically storing footage during collisions. A dashcam is an instrument that records images, sounds, and other relevant information during vehicle operation. It can utilize high-definition lenses to comprehensively document driving footage, audio, and vehicle status data.
