Should the Choke of a Four-Stroke Gasoline Engine Be Open or Closed?

Four-stroke gasoline engine choke is open. Gasoline Engine Choke: The choke is a component on the carburetor of a gasoline engine, usually located at the carburetor's air intake, and is operated via a control knob installed on the instrument panel. Function of the Gasoline Engine Choke: During cold starts, the choke partially closes the air intake to increase the gasoline concentration in the mixture entering the cylinder, thereby improving the engine's starting performance. After the engine is running normally, the choke should be fully opened. Otherwise, an overly rich mixture can cause the engine to malfunction and lead to excessive fuel consumption. For fuel-injected engines, this process is automatically controlled and does not require manual operation.
