Should the automatic transmission be started in N gear or P gear?

Automatic transmission can be started in either N gear or P gear, both are the same and will not cause damage to the transmission. An automatic transmission does not require the driver to manually shift gears; the vehicle will automatically select the appropriate gear based on driving speed and traffic conditions. Generally, automatic transmission cars have six gear positions, from top to bottom: P, R, N, D, S, L. Driving an automatic transmission car only requires using the parking P gear, reverse R gear, neutral N gear, and drive D gear to fully meet the needs of general driving. If encountering some special driving environments, other functional gears may be needed.
