Should I go to the Vehicle Management Office or Traffic Police Brigade for Driver's License Renewal?

Renewal should be applied for at the Vehicle Management Office where the original driver's license was issued. Conditions for renewal: Holders of large passenger vehicle, tractor, city bus, medium passenger vehicle, or large truck driver's licenses must have no demerit points in the current scoring cycle, or holders of other permitted vehicle type licenses must have less than 12 demerit points in the current scoring cycle. Holders of large passenger vehicle, tractor, city bus, medium passenger vehicle, or large truck driver's licenses with demerit points in one scoring cycle, as well as holders of other permitted vehicle type licenses who have been involved in traffic accidents resulting in death with equal or greater responsibility without having their driver's license revoked, must have completed the review education. The applicant must have no pending road traffic safety violations or traffic accidents. The applicant's physical condition must meet the driving license requirements. The driver's license must not be under circumstances of being legally seized, detained, temporarily suspended, revoked, canceled, or annulled. Documents required for renewal: Bring two copies of ID card, two 1-inch recent color photos without hats, original ID card, original driver's license, and a medical examination certificate from a county-level or above hospital (free medical examination is also available at the Vehicle Management Office).
I recently went to renew my driver's license and can clearly tell you that you should go to the vehicle management office, don't go to the wrong place. Bring your original ID card, old driver's license, and a one-inch photo, then queue up at the local vehicle management office to get a number, fill out an application form and submit it, and wait for the staff to process it. The whole process can be completed in as little as half an hour, and you only need to pay a 10-yuan fee. You can do it up to 90 days in advance, don't wait until it expires, otherwise you may be fined if caught driving. I also found that some vehicle management offices have medical check-up points nearby where you need a simple vision and blood pressure check before renewing your license, with a total cost of around 30 yuan. If it's inconvenient to go in person, try using the Traffic Management 12123 APP to make an appointment online, upload photos, and have it mailed to your home, but for the first time, it's recommended to do it offline for peace of mind. The traffic police department only handles fines and accident reports, they don't deal with license renewals.
