Buy China 6. Here is the relevant introduction: According to the standards issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, China 6 is implemented in two steps for light-duty vehicles below 3.5t: On July 1, 2020, the China 6a emission standard was fully enforced; On July 1, 2023, the China 6b emission standard will be fully enforced. Heavy-duty vehicles are implemented in four steps: On July 1, 2019, gas-powered vehicles adopted China 6; On July 1, 2020, urban vehicles such as buses and sanitation trucks operating within cities adopted China 6; On July 1, 2021, heavy-duty diesel vehicles fully implemented China 6a; On July 1, 2023, heavy-duty vehicles will fully enforce China 6b.
Back in 2021, I also considered buying a truck and directly opted for the China 6 standard. The China 6 emission standards are stricter, with fewer pollutants, making them more environmentally friendly. Especially for trucks operating on urban outer rings, many areas have already banned China 5 vehicles. Choosing China 6 means better resale or transfer value in the future. Although China 5 vehicles are cheaper, they become obsolete quickly. After the mandatory implementation of China 6b in 2021, China 5 vehicles might not even be allowed in urban areas in some regions. Over the years, the fuel efficiency of China 6 vehicles has improved, saving a significant amount on monthly fuel costs, resulting in lower overall operating costs and avoiding policy-related hassles. In short, in the long run, China 6 is more worry-free and eco-friendly, and it’s also more responsible for our daily lives.
