Should gas cylinders be transported horizontally or vertically in private cars?

Gas cylinders should be transported vertically in private cars. Unless they are specially designed gas cylinders, transporting gas cylinders in private cars is extremely dangerous. Generally, private cars are not vehicles specifically designed for transporting hazardous materials. If an owner uses a private car to transport gas cylinders, they may face penalties, and it is also very hazardous. A car trunk is not a safe: Do not store valuables casually. Remember not to leave cash, expensive digital products, premium alcohol, cigarettes, and other valuables in the trunk. Hazardous items are prohibited in the trunk: If items like lighters, gas cylinders, or adhesive materials are stored in the car trunk, they can easily cause spontaneous combustion or explosions. For your own safety, never store these hazardous items in the car trunk. Do not store food items in the trunk for long periods: Due to high temperatures inside the car, food can spoil quickly and may also produce unpleasant odors. Excessively heavy miscellaneous items: Long-term storage of heavy items can overload the trunk, affect the suspension, and increase the vehicle's load and fuel consumption. Make rational use of the spacious trunk: Develop the habit of organizing items systematically.
When I help my neighbors transport gas cylinders, I always take extra care to ensure they are placed upright and securely fixed in the trunk. Never lay them flat. If placed horizontally, the cylinder can easily roll and hit the valve, which could lead to dangerous gas leaks. Moreover, since it contains liquefied gas, laying it flat may cause the liquid to block the valve outlet, rendering the pressure regulator ineffective. I usually use old clothes or ropes to tightly secure the cylinder, placing it vertically parallel to the wheels, and leave a small gap in the trunk for ventilation. While driving, avoid sudden braking. Last time, I saw someone lay the cylinder flat, causing the connection to loosen and filling the entire car with the smell of gas—it was almost a disaster.
