Reasons Why the Car Air Conditioning Switch Does Not Respond When Pressed?

Reasons why the car air conditioning switch does not respond when pressed are as follows: 1. Switch failure, meaning the buttons to turn the air conditioning on or off do not work, the compressor does not engage, the air conditioning system does not operate, and there is no pressure in the system, due to refrigerant leakage. Solution: After identifying the leakage point (such as worn pipes, ruptured pipe seals, worn condenser tubes, loose or untightened pressure switches, damaged or leaking expansion valves, or failed compressor safety discs), replace the faulty components. Then proceed with vacuuming, pressure testing, and refilling the refrigerant according to the system's specified amount to resolve the issue. 2. Symptom: The compressor engages, but the air conditioning system does not cool. The surface temperature of the compressor's discharge pipe is extremely high (hot to the touch), and there is no temperature difference between the inlet and outlet pipes of the expansion valve. After the compressor engages, the high pressure does not change, but the low pressure is very low. Cause: The expansion valve's temperature sensing head is worn out, causing all the sealed refrigerant to leak, which closes the valve orifice of the expansion valve, preventing refrigerant circulation. Solution: Replace the expansion valve, then proceed with vacuuming, pressure testing, and refilling the refrigerant according to the system's specified amount to resolve the issue.
