There are two main reasons as follows: 1. Dead battery, 2. Dead key fob battery. Precautions are as follows: 1. Avoid placing it near electronic devices: The original battery of a smart key can last about two years, but if the smart key is exposed to severe electromagnetic interference, it may also malfunction. If the smart key is kept near a mobile phone for a long time, the chip inside can be affected by the phone's frequency, leading to temporary failure. 2. Avoid rough handling: The internal circuitry of most smart keys is not highly resistant to impact and can be easily damaged by strong collisions. Additionally, if the smart key gets wet, the internal circuitry may short-circuit, causing the remote control to fail. Also, avoid placing the smart key under the windshield or in other high-temperature environments exposed to direct sunlight. 3. Do not store the spare key inside the car: If a smart key is lost due to improper storage, it can cause significant inconvenience, and the cost of re-matching is high. Do not keep the spare key inside the car or together with the smart key. For smart proximity keys, replacing them requires modifying computer parameters and re-matching a new set of keys. The owner must provide vehicle and identity documents, and the manufacturer must supply the corresponding model parameters or codes. Once replaced, the lost key can no longer start the engine.
