Is Waxing a Car Necessary?

Waxing is not a must for cars. Hazards of frequent car waxing: Most car waxes today contain synthetic wax derived from petroleum. While the car may appear shiny immediately after waxing, over time the paint can become dull. This occurs because petroleum-based products oxidize over time, forming an oxidation layer on the paint surface that is difficult to remove. The only solution is to apply more wax, but this leads to repeated oxidation, creating a vicious cycle. Benefits of car waxing: As a traditional car care procedure, waxing primarily provides waterproofing and protection against acid rain. The wax coating significantly reduces water droplet adhesion on the car body, with effectiveness ranging from 50% to 90%.
