Is Toyota ECVT durable?

ECVT durability exceeds all automatic transmissions, as this model is not strictly a transmission in the technical sense. Although the Toyota E-CVT transmission is named as such, it does not function like a traditional transmission. Moreover, despite having 'CVT' in its name, it bears no relation to the steel-belt-driven CVT transmissions—the only similarity lies in the smoothness of power delivery. Simply put, the E-CVT transmission consists of two electric motors and a set of planetary gears, combining engine power with motor power through different operational logics and states to deliver it to the wheels. Hence, the official designation is: power split device. Since it lacks friction components like steel belts, it has no connection to the weaker CVT transmissions. The durability of E-CVT is far superior to CVT transmissions and even more robust than AT transmissions.
