There are several differences in power between the Mazda6 Ruiyi 2.0 and 2.5. Different engines: The Mazda6 Ruiyi 2.0 is equipped with a 108kW (2.0L naturally aspirated) engine, while the Mazda6 Ruiyi 2.5 has a 124kW (2.5L naturally aspirated) engine. Different maximum horsepower: The Mazda6 Ruiyi 2.0 has a maximum horsepower (Ps) of 147, and the Mazda6 Ruiyi 2.5 has a maximum horsepower (Ps) of 187. Different fuel consumption: The Mazda6 Ruiyi 2.0 has a MIIT fuel consumption (L/100km) of 8.2, and the Mazda6 Ruiyi 2.5 has a MIIT fuel consumption (L/100km) of 9.0.
I've driven the Mazda6 2.5 for six years, and my colleague happens to have a 2.0 model. The difference is quite noticeable. When starting from a traffic light, the 2.5 leaps forward with just a light tap on the throttle, while the 2.0 requires a deeper press to get the revs up. On the highway, overtaking is even more telling—the 2.5 clearly has more power in reserve, especially when accelerating past 80 km/h, it feels effortless. The contrast is even starker on weekend mountain drives; the 2.0 often needs to downshift and rev up to 4,000-5,000 rpm on climbs, whereas the 2.5 handles them with much more composure. That said, the 2.0 is adequate for daily commuting, though it can feel a bit strained with the AC on full blast and a full car on hot days. If budget allows, I'd recommend going for the 2.5—the price difference in the used market is only about 20,000 RMB, but the driving experience is significantly more satisfying.
