Subject Three does offer a makeup opportunity. The reasons are as follows: Each Subject Examined Once: Because each subject is examined once, those who fail the exam can retake it once. If the applicant does not participate in the makeup exam or still fails the makeup exam, the current exam session will be terminated, and the applicant must reschedule the exam. Scheduling Time: Subject Two and Subject Three exams should be scheduled ten days later. Within the validity period of the driving skills test permit, the number of scheduled exams for Subject Two and Subject Three road driving skills tests must not exceed five times (each scheduled exam includes one exam opportunity and one makeup opportunity). If the fifth scheduled exam is still failed, the results of other subjects that have already passed will be invalidated.

Of course there is a chance for a retest! When I was learning to drive, I failed the first attempt at Subject 3 because I was too nervous and forgot to turn on the indicator. The driving school said I could retake it 2-3 times, depending on local regulations, with a fee of just a few dozen yuan each time. The key is not to get discouraged. I went home and practiced turning and parking more, and passed on the second try. Adjusting your mindset is crucial—relax before the test, and practicing with a friend can help improve your driving feel. After all, the road test is to ensure you can drive safely, and failing just means you need to improve your skills. So don’t worry, just prepare well.

As a driving instructor, I often remind my students that there are retake opportunities for the third subject test, usually allowed a certain number of times depending on the local traffic authority's regulations. If you fail the first time, don't panic. First, analyze where you went wrong, such as whether you neglected blind spot checks or had unstable speed control. Before the retake, you'll have a few days of free practice to focus on strengthening the problematic areas. The purpose of the driving test is to cultivate safe driving habits, and the retake mechanism allows candidates to learn more skills for added safety. I remember one student who changed their approach during the retake, focusing on smooth control, and passed with ease. Developing good habits is crucial.

I think it's quite normal to have a second chance for the driving test (Subject 3)! Take me for example, I didn't pass the first time when getting my driver's license. I waited ten days to retake it, only spending a small amount of money. The reason was that I reacted too slowly when encountering complex situations on the road. Later, I watched many instructional videos online, practiced starting and braking skills, and then passed. The retake is actually quite humane—it helps people truly master driving and avoid taking problems onto the road. The key is not to rush during the test, pay attention to surrounding traffic. Safety first, don't put too much pressure on yourself.
