Is There a Fee for the First Driving Test?

There is no additional fee for the first driving test, as the cost is already included in the registration fee. Once the test is successfully scheduled, you can proceed directly to the test center according to the scheduled session and time. For the driver's license examination, there are no restrictions on the number of attempts for the written tests (Subject 1 and Subject 4). Each test offers two free retake opportunities. For the practical tests (Subject 2 and Subject 3), there are five scheduling opportunities, with each test also providing two free retake chances. Subject 1, also known as the theoretical driving test, allows examinees to take the test twice on the same day. If the first attempt is unsuccessful, a free second attempt is available. If the second attempt also fails, the test is terminated, and the examinee must wait ten days before rescheduling. The test is computer-based, with a passing score of 90 out of 100. Subject 2, commonly referred to as the 'small road test,' is the abbreviated term for the field driving skills test. It includes five key components: reverse parking, parallel parking, hill start, right-angle turns, and curve driving. The test is scored out of 100, with deductions of 20, 10, or 5 points for errors. A score of 80 or above is required to pass. Examinees can schedule Subject 2 up to five times, with two test opportunities per scheduled session. If all five attempts fail, previously passed subjects become invalid, and the examinee must re-register. Subject 3, known as the 'big road test,' assesses road driving skills. It covers: preparation and starting, straight-line driving, lane changes, passing intersections, pulling over, crossing pedestrian crossings, passing school zones and bus stops, meeting oncoming traffic, overtaking, making U-turns, and night driving. The test is scored out of 100, with a passing score of 90 or above. Similar to Subject 2, examinees can schedule Subject 3 up to five times, with two test opportunities per session. Failing all five attempts invalidates previous passes, requiring re-registration. Subject 4, another theoretical test, focuses on safe and civilized driving practices. Topics include handling adverse weather and complex road conditions, emergency procedures like tire blowouts, and post-accident protocols. The test is scored out of 100, with a passing score of 90. There are no limits on the number of attempts within the validity period of the driving test certificate.
