Xuandu is a domestic car. Xuandu Car: The model is produced by Cowin Auto, positioned as a compact car. It is equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT transmission. All models are front-wheel drive, 5-seater versions, and run on gasoline. Cowin Auto: Cowin Auto is Wuhu Cowin Auto Co., Ltd., a company under Chery Holding Group. It was established on January 28, 2014, and is located in the Jiangbei Industrial Concentration Area of Anhui Province. It is a state-owned joint-stock automobile company. Cowin Auto has several models under its brand, including the Xuandu, Cowin X3, and Xuanjie, which are respectively categorized as compact cars, small cars, and compact SUVs.

I previously researched the Kaiyi Xuandu, which is a purely domestic model. Kaiyi Auto is headquartered in Wuhu, Anhui, with its production base located in Yibin, Sichuan – a standard Chinese brand made in China. The Xuandu is priced very affordably, offering decent configurations for just over 100,000 yuan, and it even utilizes Chery's 1.5T engine technology. Domestic cars have indeed made rapid progress nowadays, with practical features like auto hold and rearview cameras all included. Some people think domestic brands have lower resale value, but I believe it's more than sufficient for daily family use, and costs are significantly cheaper compared to joint-venture cars. Recently, domestic brands have been making strong efforts, and I'm seeing more and more Xuandus on the road.

I know this car well. My cousin bought a Xuandu two years ago. It's a solid domestic model. Although the Cowin brand is young, it has proper roots with Chery providing technical support. What I appreciate most is its spaciousness - the rear seats can comfortably fit three adults, and the trunk can hold two large suitcases. The steering feels just right in terms of weight, and the power is adequate for city driving, though it feels a bit sluggish when overtaking on highways. Fuel consumption is quite reasonable, around 7 liters in urban areas and under 6 liters on highways. Domestic cars have made significant progress in build quality - the panel gaps are much more even compared to five years ago. As for drawbacks, the sound insulation is average, and tire noise is quite noticeable.

The Xuandu is indeed a contender in the domestic car lineup. As a sub-brand of Chery, Kaiyi has its own factory in Yibin, with design and R&D entirely completed domestically. I particularly like its infotainment screen with smartphone connectivity, which offers surprisingly smooth operation. The safety features are quite generous, with even the base model including four airbags and tire pressure monitoring. The seats provide excellent support, making three-hour drives comfortable without back pain. However, it's worth noting that domestic cars tend to depreciate faster in the market, so be prepared for that. Nowadays, the reliability of the three major components in domestic cars has improved significantly. The Xuandu's engine comes with a 10-year or 1-million-kilometer warranty, showing the manufacturer's confidence in its product.

There are so many domestic car options now, and the Xuandu is a practical choice. The chassis tuning leans towards family use, with a gentle ride over speed bumps, but noticeable body roll when cornering. Although the interior uses a lot of hard plastics, the assembly quality is good, with no rattling issues. The air conditioning cools down very quickly, which is crucial in summer. costs are also affordable, with minor services costing just 300 yuan. The biggest advantage of domestic cars is their high feature set—the Xuandu offers heated electric seats for just over 100,000 yuan, something you wouldn't even dream of in similarly priced joint-venture cars. The only downside is the brand recognition—many people don't recognize the emblem when you're out driving.

When repairing cars, I often come across the Xuandu, a typical domestic model. The costs are incredibly low; replacing a headlight assembly only costs a little over 400 yuan, half the price of joint-venture cars. The engine compartment is well laid out, making tasks like changing an air filter a quick ten-minute job. The failure rate is lower than expected, with minor issues mainly concentrated on loose electrical connectors. Nowadays, domestic cars have made significant progress in rustproofing, with thick underbody coatings. I recommend friends who buy domestic cars to perform regular checks, especially versions with more electronic configurations, paying extra attention to the wiring harness condition. Overall, it's a sturdy and durable type, rarely needing major repairs within 100,000 kilometers.
