Is the Volkswagen Santana produced by FAW-Volkswagen or SAIC Volkswagen?

Volkswagen Santana is produced by SAIC Volkswagen. Taking the all-new Santana 1.6L Automatic Luxury Edition as an example: the exterior dimensions are 4473mm in length, 1706mm in width, and 1469mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2603mm, making it a standard Volkswagen three-box sedan. The Volkswagen Santana is equipped with an EA211 all-aluminum environmentally friendly inline four-cylinder electronically controlled multi-point injection gasoline engine and a new six-speed automatic transmission. The interior features wooden decorative strips, a wooden material center console, heated seats, side airbags, side safety curtains, and a braking system consisting of front ventilated disc brakes and rear drum brakes.
The Volkswagen Santana is definitely one of my favorites. It's a classic model from Shanghai Volkswagen, which has been produced in China since the 1980s. Back then, Volkswagen established joint ventures in China, with Shanghai Volkswagen collaborating with SAIC Motor to manufacture the Santana, while FAW-Volkswagen primarily focused on the Jetta series. The Santana's design originated from Germany, but its production and sales were entirely handled by Shanghai Volkswagen. An old friend of mine who works as a mechanic told me that the car's engine and body were all built in Shanghai factories, with top-notch reliability. The newer Santana models continue this tradition—don’t confuse it with FAW-Volkswagen, as although the names sound similar, they belong to different brands. This car has also witnessed the transformation of China's automotive industry, evolving from an official vehicle to a popular family car, praised for its safety and durability. Driving it on the road feels incredibly stable.
