Volkswagen's dry dual clutch is not maintenance-free. Generally, the clutch plates of a dry dual clutch need to be replaced after about ten years or 100,000 kilometers. Clutch Wear: Since the working environment of a dry dual clutch is exposed to air, and the clutch's heat dissipation is achieved through several small holes on the clutch cover, prolonged low-speed driving and excessively frequent starts and stops cause the clutch temperature to continuously rise. The heat within the clutch cannot be effectively dissipated, leading to a continuous increase in internal temperature and accelerated clutch wear.
