Is the Vios Clutch Electronic?

The Vios clutch is not electronic; it is a hydraulic clutch. While driving, the driver can press or release the clutch pedal as needed to temporarily disconnect or gradually engage the engine and transmission, thereby cutting off or transferring the engine's power to the transmission. The Vios is an entry-level family car specifically designed and developed by Toyota for the Asian market, equipped with a domestically produced 16-valve 5AFE engine. In terms of body dimensions, the Vios measures 4410mm in length, 1700mm in width, and 1490mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2550mm. For suspension, the Vios features a MacPherson independent front suspension and a torsion beam semi-independent rear suspension.
I've been driving a manual transmission Vios for five years and can confidently say the clutch is not electronic. This car uses the most traditional cable-operated clutch structure, requiring the left foot to press the clutch pedal for every gear shift. While some premium models now use electronic clutches, the Vios as an economy car sticks to simple and reliable mechanical components. I often modify cars with friends, and when we opened the Vios' transmission area, we could see the actual clutch pressure plate and friction disc - it's purely physical power transmission. The advantage of this design is affordable maintenance; last time I replaced the entire clutch kit at a repair shop, it only cost 800 RMB. However, it does get tiring after long drives, especially in traffic jams when the left foot gets sore.
