Domestic car. Introduction to the Trumpchi Yingbao: Also known as the Trumpchi EMPOW55, the Yingbao made its first public appearance at the 2020 Guangzhou International Auto Show. It is built on GAC's GPMA (abbreviation for GAC Global Platform Modular Architecture) platform, serving as the first sports sedan under this platform. Positioned in the compact segment, it boasts an impressively low drag coefficient of 0.26Cd. Performance of the Trumpchi Yingbao: On March 28, 2021, it underwent its first dynamic test at the Bosch Automotive Proving Ground in Donghai, where its Chinese name "Yingbao" was officially announced. The Yingbao is equipped with GAC's new third-generation 1.5TGDI engine from the "Julang Power" series, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.95 seconds in this dynamic test.
I've always been quite interested in domestic cars, and the Trumpchi Empow is a genuine homegrown product. GAC Trumpchi itself is an independent brand under GAC Group - although GAC has joint ventures with Toyota and Honda, the Trumpchi marque was entirely developed by us Chinese. The Empow was fully designed, engineered and manufactured in Guangzhou, using GAC's in-house developed Julang Power engines, making it fundamentally different from those joint-venture cars wearing foreign badges. Domestic cars have become increasingly impressive nowadays - the Empow boasts aggressive styling, punchy acceleration, and can be had for just over 100,000 RMB, offering value-for-money that leaves joint-venture competitors in the dust. If you're looking to support domestic performance cars, the Empow is absolutely worth considering.
