The Trumpchi GS4 is a purely domestically produced car, and I'm quite familiar with this brand. GAC Trumpchi is the proprietary brand of Guangzhou Automobile Group, wholly owned and operated by Chinese enterprises. Unlike the joint ventures under GAC, such as GAC Honda which is a collaboration with the Japanese, the GS4 is designed and manufactured entirely within China, with production bases in Guangzhou and other locations. There is no direct involvement of any foreign brands, so strictly speaking, it is not a joint venture car. Domestic cars have made significant progress in quality and innovation, and the Trumpchi GS4 is a prime example. It is built on a self-developed platform, offers high cost-performance, and sells well domestically. We car enthusiasts are quite proud of it.

How often should the engine timing belt be replaced?

Engine timing belts should be replaced every 50,000 to 60,000 kilometers. When replacing the timing belt, proper timing alignment must be ensured, and genuine parts should be purchased. The timing belt in a car helps reduce engine noise during operation. Most vehicles use a double overhead camshaft (DOHC) design, which features two camshafts - one controlling the intake valves and the other controlling the exhaust valves. The timing belt is responsible for driving these camshafts. The engine timing should never be arbitrarily altered, as incorrect timing can lead to reduced engine power and even valve collision, requiring engine disassembly for repairs. Regular replacement of the timing belt is essential, as prolonged use may cause belt breakage during operation, which is potentially dangerous and could result in engine damage.

What does ECS displayed on the vehicle mean?

ECS displayed on the vehicle refers to the Electronically Controlled Suspension system, also known as Electronic Control Suspension. The function of ECS is to enable the car to maintain good driving performance when driving on uneven roads, during high-speed turns, sudden acceleration, or braking. In the design of traditional suspension systems, if higher ride comfort is required, it is difficult to meet the stability of handling. To overcome this condition, ECS was developed. ECS can adjust the stiffness of the suspension system, the damping force of the shock absorbers, and the height of the vehicle body according to different road conditions, load mass, driving speed, and other factors, so that the vehicle's ride comfort and handling stability can be better under various driving conditions. ECS is divided into semi-active suspension and active suspension. The active suspension system is costly and relatively less used in vehicles, while most models adopt semi-active suspension.

What does a triangle exclamation mark in the car mean?

An triangle exclamation mark in the car indicates a general fault in the vehicle. Common vehicle faults include overheating of the dry dual-clutch transmission, intervention or failure of the fuel cutoff system, parking sensor failure, engine oil pressure sensor failure, and traction control system warning. If any of these faults occur, the triangle exclamation mark light on the dashboard will illuminate. Other indicator lights on the dashboard with exclamation marks include: tire pressure indicator, lighting fault indicator, steering system fault indicator, brake system fault light, transmission fault indicator, and windshield wiper fault indicator.
