The red battery cable is positive, while the negative is black. It is recommended to check the markings on the battery. Typically, there is a plus sign near the positive terminal and a minus sign near the negative terminal. Additionally, the positive and negative terminals have distinguishing features: the thicker terminal is the battery's positive pole, and the thinner one is the negative pole. Battery usage precautions: 1. If a battery is left unused for a long time, it will gradually self-discharge until it becomes unusable; 2. When the ammeter shows insufficient charge, recharge the battery promptly; 3. Continuously using the starter when starting the car can cause the battery to be damaged due to excessive discharge. The correct method is to limit each engine start attempt to no more than 5 seconds, with at least a 15-second interval between attempts; 4. Regularly check the small vents on the battery cover to ensure they are clear during daily driving.
