Is the Prado a body-on-frame vehicle?

The Prado features a body-on-frame construction. In this design, the body is flexibly connected to the frame through rubber mounts or springs, with the frame serving as the foundation that supports the entire vehicle and bears the various loads from all installed assemblies. The body only carries the weight and inertial forces of passengers and cargo, and the frame is designed without considering any auxiliary load-bearing role from the body. The Prado is a mid-to-large SUV produced by FAW Toyota. Taking the 2019 Prado 3.5L Automatic TXL Premium Edition with rear-mounted spare tire as an example: it measures 5010mm in length, 1885mm in width, and 1890mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2790mm. It is equipped with a 3.5L naturally aspirated engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
