The Mazda6 AT transmission is not made by Aisin; it is independently developed and designed by Mazda. The vehicle's body dimensions are 4670mm in length, 1780mm in width, and 1435mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2675mm. The Mazda6 has a curb weight of 1427 kg and features a double-wishbone independent suspension system. The Mazda6 is equipped with a card-type smart key, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with 3 memory settings, xenon headlights, automatic headlight control, headlight washers, rain-sensing wipers, water-repellent exterior mirrors, remote-controlled window operation, and six airbags. The Mazda6 is powered by 2.0-liter and 2.3-liter inline-four-cylinder engines. The 2.3-liter MZR engine delivers a maximum power output at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 183 Nm.

I've driven a Mazda Atenza for five years, and this 6AT transmission definitely isn't from Aisin. Mazda developed this transmission themselves, called the Skyactiv-Drive transmission, which is a completely different system from Toyota Aisin. The most obvious difference is the tuning style—Mazda's transmission really understands throttle input, downshifting super aggressively, unlike Aisin's more laid-back approach. I've seen the transmission nameplate during maintenance, and it clearly bears Mazda's logo. Although some current Mazda models mix in Aisin's 8AT, the classic 6AT from the Mazda6 era was purely their own technology, which is why Mazda owners always brag about how smart their transmission is.

Just helped a friend fix an old Mazda6, and I've studied its transmission. Can confirm with certainty that Mazda's 6AT is their self-developed Skyactiv Technology, unrelated to Aisin. The internal design is completely different upon disassembly - Mazda uses a smaller torque converter combined with multi-plate clutches, making gear shifts half a beat faster than regular Aisin 6AT. The most noticeable difference when driving is how crisp the downshifts are; the engine revs shoot up instantly when you floor it. While the new Mazda3 now uses Aisin's 8AT in some models, the classic Mazda6 generation exclusively featured in-house transmissions.

Previously, I checked Mazda's technical documentation and found that their 6AT transmission is indeed not from Aisin. The Skyactiv-Drive transmission has two standout features: first, its unique planetary gear set structure enables faster gear shifts; second, the full-range lock-up technology delivers higher transmission efficiency compared to conventional AT transmissions. The most noticeable driving experience is the immediate power response, completely free from the sluggishness typical of traditional AT transmissions. While some German cars use Aisin's 6AT, Mazda has been equipping its main models with in-house transmissions since the launch of Skyactiv technology in 2012.

How long does it take to charge the battery by starting the engine?

To charge the battery by starting the engine, taking a 12V60Ah battery as an example, the charging method adopts constant voltage current limiting. Charge for 16 hours at a constant voltage of 14.8V and a current limit of 15A, followed by 4 hours of constant current charging at 3A, totaling 20 hours. The required charging time is relatively long. If the car owner finds that the battery is dead, it is recommended to use a battery charger to fully charge the battery. Generally, the battery capacity of a household car is around 60Ah, and the required charging current is one-tenth of the battery capacity, which is 6A. With this current, it usually takes about 3 to 5 hours to fully charge the battery.

How to Check the Remaining Fuel in the Tank?

Methods to check the remaining fuel in the tank: There is a fuel gauge pointer shaped like a gas station on the right side of the dashboard, which is the fuel gauge marked with E and F. When the pointer is close to F, it indicates that the fuel level is still sufficient; when it is close to E, it means the fuel level is very low. When the pointer reaches E, the fuel warning light will illuminate, reminding the owner to refuel as soon as possible. Relying solely on the fuel gauge pointer to determine the remaining fuel is not accurate. Factors such as driving habits, road conditions, and vehicle load can all affect the range. It requires the owner to drive the car for a long time and become familiar with it to estimate how much fuel is left. Nowadays, most cars are equipped with an LCD screen that displays the remaining kilometers the car can travel, serving as a reference for the owner.

What is the difference between the yellow label and blue label on car batteries?

The difference between the yellow label and blue label on car batteries lies in their warranty periods: the yellow label offers a two-year warranty, while the blue label provides an eighteen-month warranty. Car batteries are an essential component, which can be categorized into traditional lead-acid batteries and maintenance-free batteries. The designed lifespan of a battery is typically 27 months. New car batteries often last 3 to 4 years, but after the first replacement, they generally need to be replaced every 2 years or so. Several factors affect battery lifespan: vehicle condition, road conditions, and driving habits. Batteries tend to fail more quickly in off-road vehicles. Car batteries have a technical indicator to measure their vibration resistance. Even certified batteries can fail prematurely if subjected to frequent vibrations in harsh working environments.

What Are the Behaviors That Damage a Car Battery?

Behaviors that damage a car battery: 1. Not turning off headlights, audio systems, fans, or other electrical devices in time when the engine is off can quickly cause the battery's charge and voltage to drop. In mild cases, the vehicle may fail to start, while in severe cases, permanent damage to the battery may occur. 2. Leaving the car unused for extended periods can harm the battery, as it does not receive charging during this time while still consuming power to maintain basic functions like unlocking and memory settings, leading to battery drain and damage. 3. Repeatedly attempting to start the car when the battery is already drained is futile. Each attempt further depletes the already limited charge in the battery, not only worsening the damage but also potentially causing voltage fluctuations that could affect the vehicle's computer modules and lead to internal short circuits.
