The speed of license plate registration varies. It can usually be completed on the same day, provided that the vehicle owner has prepared all the necessary documents and materials. Permanent metal license plate: This means the vehicle is officially allowed on the road. Temporary license plate: A temporary license plate allows drivers to legally operate their vehicles before obtaining the permanent plate. However, it's important to note that if the vehicle is purchased out of town or needs to travel across provinces, an out-of-town temporary license plate must be obtained. Temporary plates have expiration dates: local temporary plates are valid for 15 days, while out-of-town temporary plates are valid for 30 days. They become invalid after expiration, and a maximum of 3 temporary plates can be applied for.
