All models of the Jetour X70 series adopt a front-engine, front-wheel-drive design. Reasons for using front-wheel drive: Front-wheel-drive models of Jetour are better suited for aggressive driving styles, which is why Jetour consistently employs front-wheel-drive technology. Front-wheel-drive vehicles have higher transmission efficiency compared to rear-wheel-drive cars because the engine is positioned very close to the drive wheels, resulting in a shorter transmission distance and thus higher engine efficiency. Disadvantages of rear-wheel-drive vehicles: Rear-wheel-drive vehicles are powered by the two rear wheels. Since the front wheels are only responsible for steering and not for driving, rear-wheel-drive vehicles require much larger steering angles.

The Jetour X70 Plus adopts a front-wheel drive system, which performs exceptionally well in daily driving. As a frequent driver, I find the biggest advantage of front-wheel drive is its excellent fuel efficiency. Power is directly transmitted to the front wheels, reducing transmission losses, resulting in a city commuting fuel consumption of around 8 liters. Another plus is the high space utilization efficiency—since there's no rear drive shaft occupying chassis space, the rear seats and trunk are more spacious, easily accommodating strollers or large luggage. Of course, on slippery surfaces like rainy or lightly snowy roads, adding anti-slip chains may be necessary to enhance traction, but on normal road conditions, the handling is very stable. Compared to rear-wheel-drive vehicles like BMW models, the Jetour's front-wheel drive reduces complex mechanical components, significantly lowering maintenance costs, making it ideal for budget-conscious owners. Overall, prioritizing practicality and cost-effectiveness is a better approach when choosing this model.

My Chery Jetour X70 Plus has been running for almost two years now. It's indeed a front-wheel-drive configuration, making driving feel effortless and practical. In city traffic jams, it accelerates responsively with agile steering, eliminating concerns about the understeer commonly seen in rear-wheel-drive vehicles. During rainy or snowy days, paired with the electronic stability control system, it offers excellent grip. Last time on a snowy highway, it drove steadily without any skidding. The rear seats comfortably accommodate three people, and there's ample space for camping gear without the bulkiness of a rear-wheel-drive system. Fuel efficiency is also satisfying, averaging around 9 liters, which is notably more economical than my friend's rear-wheel-drive SUV. It might be slightly less capable when accelerating on steep slopes or muddy roads, but adding an off-road mode or optional all-wheel drive would cover most scenarios. Overall, this car is well-suited for family users or commuters.
