Is the Haval H6 Naturally Aspirated or Turbocharged?

Haval H6 is equipped with a turbocharged engine. Engine Introduction: It adopts advanced technologies such as CVVL continuous variable valve lift, integrated exhaust manifold in the cylinder head, and dual VVT for both intake and exhaust. The engine has applied for a total of 91 patents. The independently developed CVVL continuous variable valve lift technology is the first of its kind adopted in China, with a maximum lift of 8.64mm and a minimum lift of 0.8mm. The intake valve can achieve continuous variable valve lift control. Advantages of the Engine: Under the same displacement condition, the turbocharged engine has higher power output than engines of the same displacement, providing stronger performance with relatively lower fuel consumption. It requires idling for several tens of seconds after startup and before shutdown to ensure the turbocharger receives proper cooling and lubrication.
I've driven quite a few Haval H6 models, which mainly use turbocharged engines, such as the common 1.5T and 2.0T variants. Why? As an SUV, the Haval H6 requires stronger power and low-end torque, and turbocharging just happens to provide quicker acceleration response, making it easier to drive uphill or when carrying loads. I've tried driving it in the city—step on the gas, and the power comes right up, and it's more fuel-efficient compared to naturally aspirated engines. However, when choosing a car, you need to pay attention to the configuration version. Some older Haval H6 models might have used naturally aspirated engines, but nowadays, the mainstream has shifted to turbocharging. Almost all the friends I know who bought one opted for the turbocharged versions, and maintenance isn't too complicated—just regular oil changes and turbo inspections. If you're a new driver, this kind of engine is great for highways or long trips, with fuel consumption around 8 liters per 100 km, offering high cost-performance and durability. If you want a worry-free choice, going for the turbo version is definitely the right move—the manufacturer has already factored in everyday practicality in the design.
