Is the Engine of the Yuhu Pickup Imported?

The engine equipped in the Yuhu is an imported engine, which comes in two types: the first is a 2.5T turbocharged diesel engine, and the second is a 1.8T turbocharged gasoline engine. Lightweight Design: The JX4D24 engine extensively utilizes lightweight materials such as aluminum alloy and engineering plastics to reduce the engine's weight. This results in a more balanced front and rear axle load distribution, enhancing driving stability and lowering fuel consumption. High Efficiency: The engine of the Yuhu pickup originates from the advanced Ford PUMA diesel engine. Despite having a displacement of only 2.5L, its performance metrics are exceptionally outstanding.
I've been researching Jiangling models for many years, and the situation with the Yuhu pickup's engine varies by year. The earliest batch of vehicles in 2015 used imported Ford PUMA diesel engines, shipped whole from the UK, and the power was indeed impressive. But after two or three years, Jiangling switched to domestic assembly, with key parts imported and the rest made domestically. Nowadays, you can't find any imported engines in the new Yuhu 9—it's all 2.0T gasoline engines produced in the Nanchang factory. Once, I dismantled an old Yuhu 7, and the engine nameplate read 'Made in the UK,' while the new models all say 'Made in China.' If someone tries to sell you on a purely imported engine, it's likely either old stock or a used car dealer's pitch. In practical use, domestic engines are cheaper to repair, and parts are easier to find—there's really no need to insist on imports.
