Is the driver's license photo the same as the test photo?

The photo on the driver's license is taken by a photography studio designated and qualified by the vehicle management office, following the requirements for driver's license applications. The photos taken according to these requirements are submitted to the driving school where the applicant is enrolled, and the photo on the driver's license is the one submitted by the applicant during registration. Below are the requirements for the driver's license photo: 1. Recent front-facing photo without a hat: A color, front-facing, half-length photo of the applicant without a hat, taken within the last six months. 2. Driver's license photo dimensions: The photo size should be 3.2cm × 2.2cm, with the head length between 1.9cm and 2.2cm, and the head width between 1.4cm and 1.6cm, on a white background. 3. Clear photo: No uniforms should be worn, and the photo should be clear and natural in appearance.
I'm totally qualified to speak on this! Last month I just got my driver's license - at the test center, staff directly took me to a small room for photos instead of using the test's surveillance shots. They used a self-service photo booth where you could adjust angles, took three shots and picked the best one. But my brother told me five years ago they indeed used his test-taking photo - all greasy hair looking hilarious. The policy's much better now, you can usually retake photos on-site or bring compliant white-background ID photos yourself (remember to wear dark collared clothes). Some cities even allow uploading digital versions via traffic police apps - super convenient.
