Is the Civic an automatic transmission?

The Civic Shangyue, Shangdong, Shangqing, Jindong, Randong, Jinqing, and Ranqing versions are equipped with automatic transmissions, while the Jinkong version is manual. The Dongfeng Honda Civic offers smooth gear shifting, clear gear positions, moderately tuned suspension, flexible steering, and a shorter clutch pedal travel compared to older models. Advantages of automatic transmission: Simpler driving operation with no need for clutch and manual gear lever coordination, reducing the driver's workload and mechanical wear. Disadvantages of automatic transmission: Higher fuel consumption, complex and costly repairs, sometimes sluggish acceleration when overtaking due to programmed gear shifts, delayed start response, inability to tow with the engine running, and inability to push-start with a dead battery. Automatic transmission precautions: The vehicle can only be started in P or N gear. To shift out of P gear, the brake must be pressed. Using N gear to start is recommended when driving forward immediately after starting: turn on the power (without starting the engine), press the brake, shift to N, start the engine, then shift to D to move forward. This avoids passing through R gear when starting in P, which can cause reverse impact on the transmission. Additionally, in case of sudden engine stall while driving, shift to N quickly (if safe) to restart the engine.
