Production location: Berlin. Powertrain: The new F900R features a more sporty appearance and is equipped with a water-cooled, four-stroke, inline twin-cylinder, DOHC four-valve per cylinder engine upgraded from the F850GS platform. The engine has been expanded from 853cc to 895cc, with BMW claiming an output of 103hp. The compression ratio has increased from 12.7:1 to 13.1:1, and the crankshaft now has a 90-degree offset, firing at 270 and 450 degrees respectively to produce a sound similar to a 90-degree V-Twin. The new low-slung stainless steel muffler further enhances the engine sound. The six-speed transmission ensures smooth operation with its dual parallel shaft design. Two standard riding modes: Rain and Road modes, with the optional RidingModesPro (Professional Mode), which adds Dynamic and DynamicPro modes. Additionally, optional electronic aids include quick-shift, dynamic traction control, and cornering ABS.
