Is the Auto Start-Stop Function Practical?

Auto start-stop function is useful. It can reduce unnecessary fuel consumption, lower emissions, and improve fuel economy. Here are some precautions when using the auto start-stop function: 1. Turn it off in traffic jams: Repeated start-stop not only increases fuel consumption but also adds burden to the engine. 2. Turn it off on slopes: Although the auto start-stop duration is very brief, engine start-stop on slopes may lead to insufficient brake assistance. 3. Turn it off when using air conditioning: Since the air conditioning requires significant power consumption, and the vehicle's electrical system may not provide enough power to run the air conditioning when the engine is off, passengers may feel uncomfortable. 4. Turn it off when wading: When a vehicle is wading, the speed is relatively low. If the brake is pressed at this time, the auto start-stop will engage, and the engine will stop working. This creates negative pressure in the exhaust pipe, which may cause water to flow into the exhaust system. Restarting the engine under such conditions can severely damage it.
