Is the Atz Engine Imported?

The Atz engine is imported from Japan. The Atz is equipped with 2.0 and 2.5 naturally aspirated engines, which incorporate Mazda's Skyactiv Technology. Compared to traditional naturally aspirated engines, the new Atz comes standard with features such as an intelligent idle stop system and brake energy regeneration system. The Atz 2.5L model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds. The vehicle is fitted with high-performance MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, which have been structurally optimized to achieve both weight reduction and increased rigidity. The car measures 4870mm in length, 1840mm in width, and 1445mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2830mm.
I remember last year when I was helping a friend look at used cars, I specifically researched the Atenza. Early models indeed used Japanese imported engines, mainly produced at the Hiroshima factory. However, after 2017, Changan Mazda established an engine plant in Nanjing, and now domestically produced Atenzas use the Skyactiv engines assembled in Nanjing. The parts import rate is quite high—core components like pistons and connecting rods are still shipped from Japan—but the complete engine is considered domestically made. The parameters of the new engine are well-tuned, and its fuel efficiency performance is even better than the purely imported ones. If you particularly care about pure imports, you can look for older models, but I've driven the new one, and the power smoothness hasn't diminished at all.
